Game changer for Modality Partnership

West Hull Health Hub will not only make a significant difference to patients – it’s a game changer for tenants Modality Partnership (Hull) too.

Currently based in dated converted houses on Willerby Road, the current Springhead Medical Practice is not fit for the 21st century and its existing facilities create added pressure in meeting the needs of more than 60,000 patients.

As part of the NHS Long Term Plan, the aim is to ensure more patients are cared for in the community via Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to reduce pressure on acute hospital settings.

These networks have the flexibility to increase staffing and deliver increased and improved services in state-of-the-art facilities within the community, such as those which will be available at West Hull Health Hub.

Kirsty Balfour, Lead Advanced Clinical Practitioner at Springhead Medical Practice, said:

“I am really excited about the opening of the new West Hull Health Hub; I think it is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the excellent team of people working in primary care. The state-of-the-art purpose-built building will improve the working lives of those working in it and will mean patients have better access to safe care at the right time and in the right place”.

Dr Bushra Ali, GP and Partner at Modality Partnership and member of the NHS Hull CCG Board, added: “The West Hull Health Hub is going to make a huge difference. Our current waiting room is so small, and the new facilities will mean we can have as many clinicians seeing and contacting patients as we’d like without being constrained by too few rooms.

“It will be wonderful to deliver the kind of primary care we’ve all wanted to provide without worrying that it’s not possible, and patients will have easy access to a range of appointments and services.”

Modality Partnership is an award-winning GP super-partnership which operates primary health care and community services nationally, including across four sites in Hull in a Primary Care Network.

A super-partnership is made up of GP practices who form one single partnership with the aim of working more efficiently.
