An unused dentistry suite at Longhill Health Centre is set to be transformed to create new bookable clinical space.
The centre is one of 13 Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) buildings built and owned by Citycare across Hull.
Three rooms upstairs, which were part of the dental suite, will be transformed alongside void office space on the ground floor, increasing clinical capacity throughout the building.
Sewell Construction will start the centre’s reconfiguration at the beginning of April, with work expected to last eight weeks and finish at the end of May, ready for occupation from early June.
Issy Whitelock, Assistant Development Manager at Citycare, said: “This work will ensure we are making the best use of our estate, ensuring cost efficiency alongside space utilisation.
“Our buildings have always been designed to be flexible and can be easily reconfigured to utilise all space to its full potential.
“The centre and all services will remain open and unaffected throughout the work, so patients, tenants and staff can be reassured disruption will be kept to an absolute minimum.”
The project follows similar reconfiguration work at Calvert Centre in Calvert Lane, West Hull, and Wilberforce Health Centre in Story Street, Hull city centre, in 2018.
